If there’s one thing we seem to do well (and a lot of) here in Sheffield, it's fashion shows. September 6 saw a peach of one taking place at Crystal.

exposedThe event was in aid of The S.C.O.T.S Foundation (Saving Children Of The Streets), a charity which offers help abandoned and orphaned children in the Philippines.

We arrive to people queuing down Carver St, always a good sign, a nd there's a general buzz amongst attendees. No doubt many where there to support friends and family who were taking part in the show either as designers or models.

A quality funky soundtrack from the DJ set the mood nicely before organiser Sarah Kerrigan took to the stage to welcome attendees and remind us all exactly why we were there. For her, the show was a follow up to a charity skydive she took part in for the cause on August 7th.

A poignant video montage followed which was genuinely touching before emotions were jolted to the opposite end of the spectrum courtesy of the 'Urban Jokers'. I've seen this guy ply his wares at Players Bar previously and he always puts a smile on people's faces with his quirky comedic take on breakdancing/body popping. If he's not on the next Britain's Got Talent, I'll eat my shoe.

The fashion parade followed featuring the cream of local design/retail talent, such as White, Lois and Sa-kis amongst many others - and a real coup came at the interval from Steve Edwards, singing his number 1 hit 'World Hold On' and a host of other party tracks.

Afterwards, Junction 33 kicked off for guests to party 'til the wee hours

This was a flawless show. Entertaining, edgy, and for a cracking cause. Like I said, we do a lot fashion shows here, but we do them well. On this occasion, they actually raised the bar. Nice work.
